Isn't he cute?
So I know you are all dying to bring this fun little guy home with you but don't worry. I have it covered! I'm going to show you how to make your very own robot friend! Yay me!
First up you will need: a corner rounder punch (unless you are good at doing that by hand, and I am not!), rotary cutter, mat and ruler, ultra fine sharpie, scissors and scraps of paper. Use the rotary cutter, mat and ruler to cut the shapes in the picture below.
Round the corners of the 2 inch square, the 1 1/2 inch square, 1x3/4 inch rectangle and the 1x2 inch rectangle. They should now look like this:
For the gray rectangle: measure 1/4 inch from the edge and draw a line across leaving an empty space 1/4 inch wide in the middle to become the tab that the ears get glued to. Repeat for the other side of the gray rectangle. See the top right hand corner of the picture below. Cut the 4 small rectangles away, See the bottom left hand corner of the picture below. Save 2 of those cut aways for arms. Round the corners as in the lower right hand corner of the picture below.
To make the robot belly, take the 2 inch square, the 1 1/2 inch square and the 1x3/4 inch rectangle as shown in the top of the picture below. Layer the 1 1/2 inch square centered above the 2 inch square as shown in the lower left hand corner of the picture below. Layer the 1x3/4 inch rectangle off center over the 1 1/2 inch square as shown in the lower left hand corner of the picture below.
Glue the gray wheels in place and arrange the 1x2 inch rectangle over the wheels. Glue the legs in place carefully sliding them just under the 1x2 inch rectangle.
Glue the neck and arms in place. Then layer the belly in place over the arms and neck.
Glue the head in place.
Glue the ears and hands in place.
Glue the eyes in place.
Now with the sharpie, draw the pupils on the eyes.
And there you have him! Your own robot friend!
