Disney Progress - Part 13

It's no secret that my boys and I are all Disney fanatics! Seth has been saving any change he finds along with birthday and Christmas money for the last 4 years already! The other boys have added here and there as well but not quite as diligently. Well we have finally set a general time frame (not exact dates but the month and year that we want to go) so I have started adding money to the fund as I can as well!
I am a HUGE planner type person! So once we set the general time frame I sat down and made this binder. There's all kinds of information in here. There are packing lists, and financial papers to keep track of our saving progress and menus to a couple of the restaurants that we hope to eat at while there.

Every two weeks I count up how much we are adding to the fund and record it on a sheet in the Disney planning binder. June 4th we were able to add $243.65 into our fund! (Hopefully we can keep up this momentum and wont have any pay periods where we have to not add anything or not add what I planned to add) If we keep it up we might get to go earlier than I had originally planned!
WE ARE OVER 3/10 OF THE WAY THERE!!!
We have a goal of $10,000.00 and while that seems like a lot, it covers 2 adults and 4 children. I also don't feel like I have to spend that much as well. I am a bargain hunter and deal shopper, however, I would rather budget too much and have some leftover to go to the next vacation than get there and not have enough to do something that we want to do. Right now we are at $3,325.07!

As an update for the boy's jars:
Isaac- $1.44 (he lost some money due to bad behavior choices)
Seth- $4.15 (he lost and gained due to good behavior choices followed by bad judgement choices)
Ethan- $0.03 (he lost some due to bad behavior choices)
They started adding the change they find in there as well. LOL!
Under Disney Progress Tuesdays I wont always be posting about money deposits but I also have plans to make some items to take on our trip and I will be purchasing a few items as well so I will post about them as I am able.
I'm also so OCD in my planning that I will plan out the outfits we will wear and what day we will wear them so I will photograph and post those as well.

Every two weeks I count up how much we are adding to the fund and record it on a sheet in the Disney planning binder. May 21st we were able to add $168.17 into our fund! That puts us $870.09 cents ahead of schedule!!! (Hopefully we can keep up this momentum and wont have any pay periods where we have to not add anything or not add what I planned to add) If we keep it up we might get to go earlier than I had originally planned!

Right now we are at $3,089.66! (I know that the total I had last week added with what I added this week does not add up to this total. I recounted the money from scratch and somehow found some extra money!)

Every two weeks I count up how much we are adding to the fund and record it on a sheet in the Disney planning binder. May 14th we were able to add $8.55 into our fund! That money came from the boys collecting pop cans and turning them in for money. Unfortunately we aren't in Michigan like we used to be where we got 10 cents a can but at least we can still get money for them and the boys are learning that it is "hard work" to get money.

This money was from my aunt. I take care of her as she is in her 90's and she was freaking out because she was out of makeup and wouldn't be able to get to the store to pick any up any time soon. I picked it up for her not expecting to get the money back. She insisted everyday for 3 weeks and then I finally relented because I was tired of the same "argument" everyday.

WE ARE OVER 1/4 OF THE WAY THERE!!!
Right now we are at $2,900.99!

As an update for the boy's jars:
Isaac- $2.01
Seth- $2.08
Ethan- $2.26
They started adding the change they find in there as well. LOL!

Disney Progress - Part 9

Isn't this tee adorable?! I found it in the Disney store on line and it was on sale so I had to order it! I paired it with some inexpensive khaki shorts and with those red low top Chuck Taylor's it will be adorable, I think! Again like with the other outfit, if I can get the boys and the weather to cooperate, I will try to post pictures of the boys wearing this outfit so you can see how absolutely adorable it is!

Disney Progress - Part 7

In my opinion, no Disney packing list is complete without the classic gray Disney tee with Mickey in the middle. And lucky for me I found a pair of plaid shorts that just look so cute with this tee. I think I would like to find some red low top Chuck Taylor's (or look alikes) to wear with this. (My boys don't care for sandals and they tend to blister easily with them). If I can get the boys (and the weather) to cooperate I will post some pics of the boys actually wearing this adorable outfit so you can better see my vision.

Snack Time @ Disney

When the boys and I first started planning a trip to Disney World I immediately started making each of them a scrapbook to record their memories. I am making each of the pages the same, leaving spaces for photos and journaling. Then after we get back from the trip each of them will be able to go through all of the pictures taken and choose their favorites to go into their book.

Today's page is Snack Time @ Disney!

And isn't this paper cute? I thought it was perfect for this project. (And as I live in "Podunk" Illinois, all of my paper comes from JoAnn's unless otherwise noted).

All the letters were made with my Cricut cartridge. Aren't they cute?

It is a fun project. Another way for me to "plan" and "organize" for the trip. It's keeping me excited about it as well. And it's such a unique souvenir for them! They haven't seen the books (at least not most of the pages anyway) and I plan to surprise them with the scrapbooks while on vacation! Stay tuned to see more pages that make it into the Disney scrapbook!

Then after we get back from the trip each of them will be able to go through all of the pictures taken and choose their favorites to go into their book.

I made these journaling tags to write on with a white pen.
And isn't this paper cute? I thought it was perfect for this project. (And as I live in "Podunk" Illinois, all of my paper comes from JoAnn's unless otherwise noted).

Mickey and Minnie were made with my Cricut cartridge. Aren't they cute?

Disney Progress - Part 5

So this year I decided to be that mom. You know? The weird mom that doesn't get her kids an Easter basket. But I figured they had already been to two Easter egg hunts and got Easter baskets full of candy and crappy toys that break the first day they get them from four other people so I really didn't think they needed more of that crap. Yet at the same time I didn't want to not get them anything. Normally I get them a new Signing Time! DVD for Easter, unfortunately Easter snuck up on me this year and I didn't order them soon enough.
So instead this year I got them something that was both needed and could be packed for our Disney vacation. I went with PJ's and sunglasses! Both have a Disney theme too!

Do any of you out there in blog land have alternatives to the norm with Easter? Let me know!

Then after we get back from the trip each of them will be able to go through all of the pictures taken and choose their favorites to go into their book.

Today's page is Mickey's House. These pages are for the pictures taken either in front of or inside of Mickey's house.

And isn't this paper cute? I thought it was cute for this project. (And as I live in "Podunk" Illinois, all of my paper comes from JoAnn's unless otherwise noted).

I used my Mickey and Friends cartridge to make this cute house. And there's room for 3 four by six pictures.

It is a fun project. Another way for me to "plan" and "organize" for the trip. It's keeping me excited about it as well. And it's such a unique souvenir for them! They haven't seen the books (at least not most of the pages anyway) and I plan to surprise them with the scrapbooks while on vacation! Then after we get back from the trip each of them will be able to go through all of the pictures taken and choose their favorites to go into their book.

Today's page is Meeting The Mouse! These pages are for the pictures taken with Mickey Mouse.

And isn't this paper cute? I thought it was perfect for this project. Mickey comic book paper and its pale enough colors to not distract from pictures added to the pages later but fun enough to fit in to the book! (And as I live in "Podunk" Illinois, all of my paper comes from JoAnn's unless otherwise noted).

And there's spaces for 3 four by six pictures and 3 smaller or cropped pictures!

It is a fun project. Another way for me to "plan" and "organize" for the trip. It's keeping me excited about it as well. And it's such a unique souvenir for them! The Boy's Banks

These were so simple to make and yet turned out super cute! Since we are getting closer and closer to the actual Disney trip, I decided to make each of the boys their own bank. When they do chores, go above and beyond or are caught doing a good deed; I give them some change to add to their bank. However, when they fight, make bad choices and break things of others; they have to give back some of the change. I'm hoping that this simple project will not only help with the excitement factor but I'm hoping they will also motivate better behavior and choices! Wish me luck!

I am making each of the pages the same, leaving spaces for photos and journaling. Then after we get back from the trip each of them will be able to go through all of the pictures taken and choose their favorites to go into their book.

Today's page is Cinderella's Castle. The title is a little unoriginal but it fit's right in with our group. These pages are for the pictures taken in front of the castle.

And isn't this paper cute? I thought it was perfect for this project. Tickets cut in the shape of tickets! (And as I live in "Podunk" Illinois, all of my paper comes from JoAnn's unless otherwise noted).

I found these castle and Tinkerbell stickers that fit this page perfectly at JoAnne's as well! What luck!

It is a fun project. Another way for me to "plan" and "organize" for the trip. It's keeping me excited about it as well. And it's such a unique souvenir for them!
