1/365 - Part 1

For those of you who are not familiar with my project 100/365, I'll let you know.  Every year around December the boys and I sit down and decide on a list of 100 things that we would like to do in the upcoming year. Some of the things are simple and free such as taking a walk or bike ride. Other things are more complex and take little money, like going to see a movie; or in some cases quite a bit of money, like redoing their bedroom. I don't have the list typed up or posted yet this year but if you are interested, that is something I would be happy to do.

This is part 1 of project 1/365. The boys wanted to redo their room this year. It is small and they all three have to share it, and unfortunately we got the news recently that we will be living with my mom for at least an extra year. (I love my mom, it's just really cramped with 7 people and 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and we all have our own way of doing things). So in order to make the boys feel more comfortable and feel as if it was actually their space, I agreed to redo their room.

The first step, paint! It wasn't an ugly green before, in fact I'm the one who picked that color. But after 4 years (I think) and several times of having it switched between different owners, it was starting to look really bad. Especially after my boys made their mark on it. Seriously! In Sharpie. In pencil. And in crayon. Well, I think they finally passed the writing on the wall stage but little boys are notoriously hard on walls. So for this time I decided not to fill in holes and cracks. I just washed the walls down and painted. (When we move out and mom wants it redone, I'll come help her do all of that.) Here is the final result of a paint job.

It's kind of hard to tell but it is now a very subtle gray. I think it will make the future colors going into the room pop! I'm so sore now. You wouldn't think I would get so sore but I was up and down on the step stool and bending in all funny contortions to get the bottom half painted. My body just isn't used to that I guess. Do you think I could count that as my workout for the day? LOL! Anyways, it was nice being alone in the room with pandora tuned to Eddie James radio and just singing along as loud as I want! Man did I sound good! LOL! Of course most of it was probably due to the accoustics of a mostly empty room. But I was sincerely worshiping as well and I think no one sounds more beautiful as one who is truly worshiping. Stay tuned to see what is next in Project 1/365!
