Disney Progress - Part 2

It's no secret that my boys and I are all Disney fanatics! Seth has been saving any change he finds along with birthday and Christmas money for the last 4 years already! The other boys have added here and there as well but not quite as diligently. Well we have finally set a general time frame (not exact dates but the month and year that we want to go) so I have started adding money to the fund as I can as well!

I am a HUGE planner type person! So once we set the general time frame I sat down and made this binder. There's all kinds of information in here. There are packing lists, and financial papers to keep track of our saving progress and menus to a couple of the restaurants that we hope to eat at while there.

Every two weeks I count up how much we are adding to the fund and record it on a sheet in the Disney planning binder. This is actually February 22nds deposit but I decided to post about it anyways. I will be making another deposit on March 8th so next week you will be updated on how much was added.

Under Disney Progress Tuesdays I wont always be posting about money deposits but I also have plans to make some items to take on our trip and I will be purchasing a few items as well so I will post about them as I am able.

I'm also so OCD in my planning that I will plan out the outfits we will wear and what day we will wear them so I will photograph and post those as well.

Doll Progress

So I have had these little things laying around my house the last few weeks. They are doll bodies all ready to be stuffed, given a face and hair and dressed for the world to see.

There are several already at this point. Fifteen to be exact!

They will be stuffed and given faces and hair...

...and dressed! Then they will be listed in my shop on etsy!

Tune in for future update posts and meet Harper, Charlotte, Aria, Madelyn, Nora, Paige, Natalie, Lorelai, Ryley, Emmalynn, Tabitha, Courtney, Liam and Elliot! I'm just as excited to meet these little ones as I am to introduce them to you out there in blogland!

1/365 - Part 1

For those of you who are not familiar with my project 100/365, I'll let you know.  Every year around December the boys and I sit down and decide on a list of 100 things that we would like to do in the upcoming year. Some of the things are simple and free such as taking a walk or bike ride. Other things are more complex and take little money, like going to see a movie; or in some cases quite a bit of money, like redoing their bedroom. I don't have the list typed up or posted yet this year but if you are interested, that is something I would be happy to do.

This is part 1 of project 1/365. The boys wanted to redo their room this year. It is small and they all three have to share it, and unfortunately we got the news recently that we will be living with my mom for at least an extra year. (I love my mom, it's just really cramped with 7 people and 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and we all have our own way of doing things). So in order to make the boys feel more comfortable and feel as if it was actually their space, I agreed to redo their room.

The first step, paint! It wasn't an ugly green before, in fact I'm the one who picked that color. But after 4 years (I think) and several times of having it switched between different owners, it was starting to look really bad. Especially after my boys made their mark on it. Seriously! In Sharpie. In pencil. And in crayon. Well, I think they finally passed the writing on the wall stage but little boys are notoriously hard on walls. So for this time I decided not to fill in holes and cracks. I just washed the walls down and painted. (When we move out and mom wants it redone, I'll come help her do all of that.) Here is the final result of a paint job.

North Wall:

East Wall:

South Wall:

West Wall:

It's kind of hard to tell but it is now a very subtle gray. I think it will make the future colors going into the room pop! I'm so sore now. You wouldn't think I would get so sore but I was up and down on the step stool and bending in all funny contortions to get the bottom half painted. My body just isn't used to that I guess. Do you think I could count that as my workout for the day? LOL! Anyways, it was nice being alone in the room with pandora tuned to Eddie James radio and just singing along as loud as I want! Man did I sound good! LOL! Of course most of it was probably due to the accoustics of a mostly empty room. But I was sincerely worshiping as well and I think no one sounds more beautiful as one who is truly worshiping. Stay tuned to see what is next in Project 1/365!

You'll Be Seeing Less Of Me - Introduction

OK, so the title might be slightly misleading, especially after I just said yesterday
that you'd be seeing a lot more of me.
But that's my fancy schmancy new title for keeping you updated on my weight loss journey.

I'm not planning anything super crazy, I'm just starting off slow and making simple changes to become both more healthy and lose some weight in the process.

My current goal (baby steps here people) is to lose 20 pounds. I have been promised a pair of denim Toms as an incentive to reach that goal and I can't wait!

So here's how I'm starting:
1. A minimum of 20 minutes of some kind of workout activity Sunday through Friday. Saturday will be my rest day.
2. Drink water with at least one meal a day along with my regular between meals water.
3. No soda for this week.
4. No caffeine for this week.

Here's my "BEFORE" picture. (It's so not flattering! But keep in mind I worked 8 hours that day and then came home and cleaned for several more hours before this picture was snapped!)

weight: 166.7
bust: 43.5 inches (Yikes! I hate that one!)
hips: 40.5 inches
waist: 41 inches

Another view:

Well, that's it for now. Tune in next week for an update on my progress!

I'm Back!

I wont bore you by going into detail with why I haven't been posting, but I will let you know that you will be hearing a lot more from me. And with that there will be some changes.
I plan on having a kind of a schedule as a guide to what I will be posting. I'm sure there will be some exceptions, as there always is in life but here's the plan:

Sundays: Stuff I love!
Mostly my boys and what ever we have been up to.
Like the things we have on our list to do this year.

Mondays: Doll Progress
I really enjoy working on them and they turn out so cute.
Sometimes there's lots of progress,
sometimes not so much but I'll keep you updated!

Tuesdays: Disney Progress
My boys have been saving to go to Disney World for several years already and I have recently been adding to their savings as well, so I will keep you updated! I can't wait!

Wednesdays: Big Project Updates
We have been remodeling the house and there is also a secret project being worked on by my best guy friend with input from me. I'll update you as I can.

Thursdays: Scrapbook Updates
I'll post pictures of my newest scrapbook layouts (and maybe some older ones too since I don't have many blogged about already).

Fridays: Kinda Random Here
I may post newly listed items in my etsy shop. It may be a book or movie review. I am allowing a bit more wiggle room here, but seriously it's Friday! Shouldn't Friday's be a bit more laid back?

Saturdays: Weight Loss Updates
Please be nice people! I am wanting to track my progress,
hold myself accountable and hopefully encourage someone else. There's also a pair of denim Toms on the line here!

Well, that's it for today. Kinda boring I'm sure and I'm sorry there's no pictures to liven this post up a bit. Just boring housekeeping stuff and letting you know I'm back!

The Begining

I had someone complaining that I hadn't posted in a while, so this one is for him! I just got kinda tired of projects for a while. Just needed a little break.

Well today the boys, my mom and I spent the better part of the afternoon and all evening putting all the Lego sets together.

It was part get things organized/part spend time together. So win/win for everyone!

We stored each set in a separate zip-lock baggie.

Then we placed the zip-lock baggies in a clear container.

I made a fun label for the container using my cricut, and then we called it a night.
